Information in English

Did you receive a letter? Check whether any component of the article contains more than 0.1 % weight by weight in the individual parts of one or more substances included on the Candidate List and reply to the request within 45 days.

Suppliers of articles containing Candidate List substances (also called Substances of Very High Concern – SVHCs) in a concentration above 0.1 % in the individual parts have an obligation to inform a consumer about the content if asked. This is stated in article 33 of the EU chemical regulation REACH which also specifies that the consumer must receive an answer within 45 days. Moreover, sufficient information must be provided to allow safe use of the article.

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency and the Danish Consumer Council ”Forbrugerådet Tænk Kemi” are partners in the EU LIFE project AskREACH. In this project the consumer app ”Tjekkemien” has been developed to help consumers and companies to apply the “Right to Know” about candidate list substances in consumer goods. The English name of the app is Scan4Chem.
